Sat, 26 Jul 2008; vs Penlan RFC, played at played at the Bryn Welfare Ground

Bryn went down to their first defeat of the season at the hands of Penlan RFC, who transferred their heroics in the cup to the league.

The Swansea-based rugby club travelled up to Bryn's fortress - they were undefeated there (and in the Vaughan Sounds Central League) for the past two years - and came away easy victors by seven wickets.

The Port Talbot side were all out in just 30.2 overs, with Andrew Evans (3-23) getting through the early order and Dean Norwood capitalised later on with 3-11.

Evans's opening partner Andrew Davies put on the early pressure with 1-11.

Evans's brother, Robert, then crashed a rapid 39 to seal the win in the 15th over,

The defeat saw Bryn slip to second place, the same position they finished last season, when, just as during this season, they occupied top-spot for many weeks.
